Responsibilities

Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist job duties:

  • Performs venous, arterial and capillary blood collection, processing and delivery of specimens to departments within Trinity Laboratory. Consistently demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient, sample and identification and labeling.
  • Educates others and maintains knowledge of departmental functions, policies and procedures including AIDET and Focus value.
  • Assists with training new employees, and being helpful and supportive in the teaching of new associates.

Qualifications

Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Participants will be enrolled in Trinity College's 7 Week Phlebotomy Certificate Program
  • Participants must be willing to transfer out of their current role to start working in tandem with the program
  • Must work in the Phleb role for 1-year full-time (.8 FTE or higher), post completion of program. Failure to do so will result in reimbursement of program cost.
