Daikin Applied is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist I. This role reports to the Sr Operations Manager and is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. The role will work closely with the EHS team to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, Daikin requirements, and to promote a culture of safety throughout the site. Additionally, the role would manage the building, vehicles and equipment maintenance schedules, support corporate information technology and manage site security assets. Location: In office, Phoenix, AZ.

What you will do:



  • Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify and address hazards and risks
  • Assist in the development and implementation of certain EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Support and maintain chemical management documentation, new equipment, and approval process
  • Monitor and analyze EHS data, trends, and metrics to identify areas of improvement and implementing of corrective actions
  • Assist the EHS leader in the preparation of EHS reports and presentations
  • Assist EHS leader in leading EHS committees and teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Support and maintain the improvements of EMS (ISO 14001) and SMS (ISO 45001) document control and systems
  • Conducts or coordinate training to educate employees about safety policies, laws, and best practices
  • Assist site supervisors in investigations of incidents and severe incidents to prevent recurrence
  • Assist in the collection of samples for different testing analysis (i.e., storm water, chemicals, etc.)
  • Assisting in conducting of risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide EHS technical support and drive site specific initiative and projects
  • Promote Daikin's goal of zero (accidents, emissions, etc.)
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices
  • Develop, Manage and Execute maintenance schedules for the building, vehicles and critical equipment
  • Support Corporate IT at the site level
  • Manage Building Security Assets
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:



  • 2-year Associate's Degree
  • 1 year in EHS or related field

The typical salary for this position ranges from $66,000-$90,000 in Arizona. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
