    Unit Bio:

    R5 cares for patients with chronic multi-system disease processes with an emphasis on nephrology and urology, providing specialized patient and family care to renal transplant recipients and living donors. Patient populations include adults and older adults with common diagnostic categories including Acute Kidney Injury, End-Stage Renal Disease, Diabetes, Infectious Diseases, Urological disorders and Urological surgeries.

    Summary:

    Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

    The Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute Care role assists in the administration of nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties.

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

    1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

    2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

    3. Experience: CNA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job experience provided.
