SCOPE The Designer I applies creative thinking, design skill, knowledge of manufacturing techniques, and Computer Aided Design Drafting practices to the generation of layout, assembly, and detail drawings for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and electronic equipment of simple to moderate complexity for a variety of OII-MSD projects. The Designer I may also prepare sketches and other graphic information for use within technical documents (e.g., Operations and Maintenance Manuals) and proposals. Originality and imagination are key to this position, as there is typically restrictions to space, size and/or weight that are applicable requiring invention of systems/components that do not currently exist.
