Position Summary The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer II position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. An Engineer II is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer II effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. This engineering position is within the Distributed Generation (DG) Engineering team in the Distributed Energy Group (DEG). The DG Engineering team supports the interconnection of renewable energy to the distribution grid by ensuring technical and regulatory compliance of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as solar PV and battery energy storage projects. This Engineer I or Engineer II role will be responsible for performing DER interconnection studies, refining interconnection study processes, and implementing process improvement initiatives. The candidate needs to have a technical background and be comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced, technical environment. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
