Job Description
The Clinical Manager of Quality assist with facilitating the delivery of safe, outcomes-based practice, and participates in planning and implementing initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality outcomes and achieving departmental annual goals. The Clinical Manager of Quality participates in daily tasks, facilitates annual staff development recommendations, and collaborates with department leaders to establish major objectives and standards to comply with regulatory accreditation agencies. This role functions to assure Perioperative nursing practices are aligned systemically with evidenced based clinical practice and regulatory compliance. The Clinical Manager of Quality serves as the coordinator for unit specific orientation, competency assessments and staff development. The Clinical Manager of Quality possesses a horizontal leadership approach with a networking style that enables information to be transmitted quickly to other disciplines and promotes involvement of staff at all levels in decision-making. The Clinical Manager of Quality demonstrates leadership abilities along with effective interpersonal relationship skills that foster healthy, successful, and collaborative interactions with all members of the health care team. The Clinical Manager of Quality holds a comprehensive perspective of patients, families and caregivers and establishes strong partnerships with them to deliver optimal care. The Clinical Manager of Quality is also an operating room RN who provides professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of settings following established nursing process, adherence to hospital or department policies, nursing procedures, standards, and practices. In collaboration with other certified clinicians serves as the surgery subject matter expert and internal consultant to leadership assuring that professional standards of practice in the surgical area are integrated into decision making, operations, and practice. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Manager of Quality is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate to meet the diverse and global needs of the facility. The Clinical Manager of Quality is also responsible for creating, updating, and reviewing all policies, procedures, order sets, and forms for Surgical Service areas to ensure these are current, compliant, and relevant. Travel may be required to facilitate collaboration with entities across Baptist Health Care. Directly supervises Surgical Services educators. Qualifications Minimum Education
