This position is responsible for filling the physician staffing needs of UMass Memorial Medical Group, member hospitals and community-based physician practices. This position is responsible for sourcing qualified physicians nationally through utilization of multiple networks such as on-line computer databases, literature searches and responses to advertisement in appropriate professional journals. This position will establish relationships with internal and external resident program heads nationally to identify and recruit potential candidates.I. Major Responsibilities: 1 (20%). Collaborates and consults with the hiring physician to develop a specific recruitment plan and makes ongoing suggestions/updates to the plan as required. In addition to the above, standard management level responsibilities may include directing and supervising assigned personnel, conducting performance appraisals, scheduling and training. Makes decisions on hiring, transfers, firing, budget, and departmental goals. Carries out entity and system level strategy, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and promotes the standards of respect. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and all health and safety programs. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III.
