The Women's Place provides family centered care to approximately 4,000 obstetric and newborn patients at UVA Medical Center each year. It is comprised of 40 private rooms located within 8E, 8N, and 8C at University hospital. There are 4 OB triage rooms, 8 labor-delivery-recovery suites, 2 operating rooms, 12 mother-baby rooms, 13 high-risk antepartum/postpartum rooms, and a newborn procedural area. As both a community and high risk referral center, these services are complimented by a renowned Neonatal Intensive Care unit and Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants. The most common medical diagnosis are gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm labor, placenta previa/abruption, chorioamnionitis, newborn jaundice, newborn hypoglycemia, and preterm birth. The usual nurse to patient ratio is 2:1 for the operating room, 1:1-2 for LDR, 1:2-4 for MB, HR-AP, PP, and Triage. The Women's Place has achieved both a Baby Friendly Designation as well as an Honor Roll Status from the Immunization Action Coalition. **Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates with 12 month work commitment to UVA Health** TIME TYPE: FULL TIME (3, 12 hr shifts per week) SHIFT: DAYS (07:00-19:30) Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient's home.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred. Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
