Position Description and Purpose:

The Sanitation Specialist is responsible for performing tasks assigned by the Plant Sanitation Manager as per the Master Sanitation Schedule. They will address and enforce any G.M.P. or Food Safety concerns. Sanitation Technicians must be familiar with all cleaning products used and be willing to cross-train in other sanitation roles if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce all elements of food safety within the plant.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of entrances, floors, utility areas, and storage areas.

  • Handle and document all line clean-ups.

  • Enforce safety rules and regulations.

  • Monitor the inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies.

  • Ensure the proper completion of Master Sanitation Schedule tasks.

  • Understand and manage the Master Sanitation Schedule.

  • Ensure all cleaners are used according to manufacturers' instructions.

  • Dilute bulk cleaning chemicals as required, using materials provided by the chemical manufacturer.

  • Manage all line clean-ups and inspect line equipment.

  • Understand and execute changeovers, shutdowns, startups, periodicals, 100% organic, 100% wash, 100% Allergen, and kosher clean-ups.

  • Report any discrepancies to the supervisor or Plant Sanitation Manager, including issues related to HACCP Programs, Allergen Program, GMP Findings, Hold Procedures, and more.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Basic math and reasoning skills.

  • Flexible hours and availability for intercompany or weekend work as needed.
