POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Position Overview

McCallie Associates, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Application Engineer who will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and cases to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of applications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases to validate application functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with software developers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts to streamline and scale the testing process.
• Serve as Tier 3 support for escalated application issues, providing deep-dive analysis and resolution in collaboration with technical teams.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation including installation guides, user manuals, and support playbooks for use by Tier 1 and Tier 2 field support engineers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance testing efficiency, issue resolution, and user experience.
• Assist in deployment planning and post-deployment validation to ensure successful implementation of application updates and releases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least 10 years of experience in application engineering, software testing, or related technical roles in a DoD support role.
• Strong proficiency with automated testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JUnit, Python, PowerShell).
• In-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex software issues in a production environment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to gain and retain Top Secret Clearance.

Pay range: $140,000 to $160,000 per year
