Position Overview

The De Pere Shipping Container Division of Green Bay Packaging is seeking to fill the position of a part-time Occupational Health Nurse (OHN). The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) serves as the division's medical professional and works closely with plant leadership in taking a proactive approach towards providing a healthy and safe work environment. The OHN administers medical treatment in cases of accidents or illness and is responsible for workers compensation administration, return to work programs and other occupational health needs at the division. The OHN will report directly to the divisional VP/General Manager.


Responsibilities

* Be a highly visible and engaged resource to all employees at the division
* Collaborate with divisional leadership in areas of employee wellness programs, injury prevention, ergonomics and risk assessments
* Provide onsite patient care associated with injury and illnesses including first aid, acute care and emergency care
* Maintain regular contact with injured and ill employees to facilitate recovery
* Collaborate with divisional Safety and Human Resources in managing return to work programs for work-related and personal illness and injury, respectively
* Monitor employee's condition after returning to work following an occupational or non-occupational injury or illness
* Provide counselling on and lead programs to promote employee health and wellness
* Administer worker's compensation program with 3rd party case management vendor to ensure prompt and accurate reporting on all occupational injuries and illnesses
* Partner with divisional Safety Manager by maintaining the divisions OSHA Log, compiling injury statistics, injury logs and other data to be used in improving site safety program
* Serve as a member of the divisional safety team and attend regularly scheduled meetings
* Maintain all employee medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Facilitate and conduct onsite drug testing for the division's random drug testing program, post-incident and reasonable suspicion situations
* Facilitate and/or create annual employee training for topics such as ergonomics, blood borne pathogens and hearing conservation
* Coordinate with outside vendors or corporate for events such as annual audiograms, first aid training and CPR training
* Collaborate with divisional Human Resources in handling complex issues related to return-to-work situations including work restrictions, modified scheduling and job accommodations
* Other job duties that may be assigned


Qualifications

Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse
5 to 7 years of nursing experience (preferably in an Industrial Environment)
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) Certification (preferred but not required)
Strong interpersonal skills and proven success in a diverse, team environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Teams
