We are seeking a skilled and motivated Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on leveraging Microsoft technologies to develop and maintain dynamic and visually appealing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL Server database management and querying, with a focus on data analytics and reporting. Additional experience with Python, the Microsoft Power Platform, GitHub, and SSIS will be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Power BI Development:
    • Design and develop interactive, visually appealing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
    • Create DAX formulas and Power Query queries to transform and model data for reporting.
    • Ensure reports are efficient, user-friendly, and responsive.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • SQL Server Management:
    • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries for reporting and data analysis.
    • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tasks using SQL Server.
    • Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases to ensure performance and reliability.
    • Ensure data integrity and implement data validation processes.
  • Collaboration & Documentation:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and ensure business needs are met.
    • Provide training and support to end users on Power BI and SQL Server best practices.
    • Document processes, queries, and dashboard designs for internal reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Additional Responsibilities (Nice to Have):
    • Develop automation processes using Python to streamline data operations or reporting.
    • Integrate and extend functionality with the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, etc.).
    • Collaborate with the development team to manage version control using GitHub.
    • Assist in the design and execution of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages for data integration and ETL.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • Proven experience with Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, and dashboard design.
    • Strong experience with SQL Server (T-SQL, database design, optimization, and querying).
    • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL queries and performance issues.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Python for data analysis or automation.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate).
    • Experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
    • Knowledge of SSIS for data integration and ETL processes.
    • Understanding of Azure and cloud-based data solutions is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional lifting (up to 15 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
