Emergency Room Technical Assistant - 36 Hours - Midnights

Henry Ford Medical Center-Fairlane in Dearborn's emergency department provides care for 70,000 patients annually, treating a range of conditions from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies such as strokes and heart attacks. The Fairlane ER offers: 57 all-private treatment rooms, each equipped with a cardiac monitor. A clinical decision unit for patients who may need additional observation until their condition stabilized. Large trauma area, allowing physicians to closely monitor patient care from an adjacent room. Fast-track triage area for efficiently treating minor ailments, such as sore throats and ear infections. A decontamination unit for safely cleansing patients or staff of toxic substances or infectious agents. Centrally located X-ray suite to quickly expedite imaging tests for patients. GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of a registered nurse or Provider. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. BCLS certification required. Previous Emergency Department Technician, Medical Assistant experience preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: One of the following certifications/programs required: B-EMT Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program. Completion of a formal nursing education program. Completion of a formal medical doctor education program OR One (1) year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above completed certification/program. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire). Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required. *EMT license preferred.
