THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION THAT STARTS AT $25.00 PER HOUR WITH A $2.50 PER HOUR SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

Summary:

The Industrial Mechanic/2nd Shift Production Supervisor is a dual role. As a Mechanic you will disassemble and reassemble paper machine components according to blueprints, memos, sketches, match marks and/or knowledge of machine construction, using hand tools and power tools.As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for the following:

Production Supervisor:



  • Provide leadership to a team of approximately 6 within productionarea.
  • Plan, organize and supervise work performed in assigned area.
  • Take responsibility for safety, quality, environmental compliance, and productivity of the facility on scheduled shift.
  • Continually look for improvements in processesand equipment.



Industrial Mechanic Responsibilities:



  • Reviews work orders and/or blueprints, sketches and diagrams, to determine work required.
  • Assemble and disassemble components.
  • Inspect and measure components with precision tools and instruments to ensure they are within specifications.
  • Cleans parts with solvents, steam cleaner, hot tank, sand blaster and/or caustic soda.
  • Machine parts to specification, using small lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.
  • Operate forklift, overhead crane or pickup truck to move parts and components.
  • Prime or paints parts by hand or with spray gun.
  • Maintain a clean work area.



Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Possess hand tools and toolbox necessary for job, and provide itemized list to employer forinsurance purposes. Minimum tool list will be provided by employer.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches and work orders.
  • Demonstrate mechanical abilities (i.e., millwrighting, machinist, automotive background).
  • Meet production deadlines; may change or rotate shifts. Flexibility required in job duties and hours.
  • Operation of equipment/tools/vehicles: Equipment: Small machine tools, steam cleaners, sand blasters and overhead cranes.
  • Tools: Hand and power tools including measuring instruments.



Education and Experience:



  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3-5 years of mechanical rebuild experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience



Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Be able to lift up to 50-70pounds at a intermittently.
  • Have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Wear applicable PPE.
