Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Director of Business Development to lead and drive energy efficiency and renewable technology business development activities throughout the Southern US. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to identify, target, qualify, and secure prospects for new energy efficiency, performance contract, turnkey construction, and renewable business opportunities
- Lead, drive, and manage sales activities and resources from lead generation through development and implementation
- Formulatemarketing and business developmentforecasts,plans,and activitiesto increase company presence in defined markets and achieve regionalobjectives
- Develop, manage, and execute individual and regional sales pipelines
- Serve as key point of contact with customer and lead presentations
- Oversee the successful development, organization, strategic positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning proposals and presentations
- Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project proposal and contract terms
- Coordinate the development interface with project management and operations teams to assure customer satisfaction
- Cultivate positive and effective business relationships
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 8-10 years' leadership experience driving marketing and sales activities to develop, secure, and implement multi-million-dollar energy efficiency, conservation, or government construction contracts opportunities.
- BA/ BS Degree.
- Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
- Travel required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- Demonstrated business development, cultivation, relationship management skills with ability to identify customer needs and effectively communicate, position, negotiate, and close solutions sales.
- Proven ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, savings, including energy efficiency, renewable technology, and associated structured financing project development experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of building automation and energy management systems, facility operations and installations involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, conservation, distributed generation, energy efficiency, and renewable technology projects.
- Superior financial planning, budgeting, and organizational resource management abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, technical and computer communication and presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency. Knowledge of energy analysis software desirable.
