DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this important role, you will act as an Aging Protective Services Investigator in the Social Services Department, Protective Services Unit. You will investigate allegations of abuse, conduct a face-to-face visits with older adults, interview all collateral contacts pertinent to the case, including the alleged perpetrator of the abuse, and collect evidence and documents. You will have the opportunity to work with other agencies and entities, such as law enforcement, financial institutions, the medical community, and domestic violence services to reach a conclusion regarding the case. Key to this position is ensuring the safety of older adults, which will require you to assist with activities such as seeking medical intervention, applying for entitlement programs, addressing eviction notices and placement needs, using legal intervention when necessary. Additional duties to include:
- Conducting reassessments, as required
- Documenting all case activities
- Attending all training pertinent to the Protective Services Investigator job classification
- Interpreting AAA programs and Protective Services regulations to individuals, the public, and other agencies
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
- One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
