PCF Engineer

Location: San Francisco, California, United States (remote)

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Installation, configuring, upgrades, backups, maintenance and monitoring on 20 PCF foundations on AWS and VSphere infra.

* Configure the AWS infrastructure using terraform templates required for the PCF platform.

* Manage 15+ Kubernetes clusters, ensuring 99.5 percent uptime and optimizing resource utilization.

* Implement CI/CD pipelines, reducing deployment times and enabling more frequent, reliable releases.

* Configuring and scheduling the PCF pipelines using Concourse CI for installation, upgrades, and backups.

* Getting involved in upgrades of PCF

* Maintain the N-1 Version of PAS on PCF and update the latest version of stem cells and buildpacks.

* Installing other tiles like PAS windows, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Healthwatch, Event Alerts, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, PCF Metrics, Spring Cloud Gateway etc.,

* Rotating the root and leaf certs on the PCF foundations when required.

* Need thorough Understanding on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (VMWare TAS) architecture.

* Good understanding on the AWS infrastructure requirements to install PCF/VMWare TAS PaaS.

* Experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry installation, configuration and maintenance on AWS and vSphere infrastructure.

* Experience configuring Prometheus and Grafana for platform monitoring. Good with enterprise monitoring solutions such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace and Splunk.

* Worked with Concourse for continuous integration to take care of automated upgrades of the PCF tiles by configuring the pipelines.

* Well versed with static/generic, AWS, DB, transit and AD secret engines. LDAP and AppRole auth methods.

* Having experience with Installing and configuring slack alerting thru webhooks using Healthwatch event alerts.

* Install and configure Hashicorp vault and Raft/Consul as storage backends with community and enterprise versions.

* Initialize, unseal, enable clustering, HA, performance stand by and disaster recovery on Hashicorp vault.

* Well versed with static/generic, AWS, DB, transit and AD secret engines. LDAP and AppRole auth methods.

* Develop and manage policies that control access to secrets.

* Implement and manage highly available Vault clusters.

* Implement strategies for scaling Vault in alignment with organizational growth.

* Automate repetitive tasks related to Vault management using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

* Experience in creating Docker Images and handling multiple containers as a cluster with Kubernetes

* Implemented containerization of applications using Docker, improving scalability and portability across development, testing, and production environment.

* Managed and scaled applications in AWS using Kubernetes, improving resource efficiency and reducing infrastructure costs.

* Ensuring Kubernetes cluster security through RBAC, network policies, and secret management.

* Work closely with development teams to optimize applications for Kubernetes deployment.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position [$99,000 to $140,000] is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
