Pay rate: $35-45/hr - Depending on Education and Experience/Level


Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan and execute experiments in an independent manner leveraging scientific and technical expertise to achieve defined objectives.
  • Independently initiates and carries out the process for assay development, optimization and validation in a timely manner as required.
  • Utilizes various biochemical, molecular, cellular, and functional techniques to develop and validate complex assays using mammalian cells, tissues, and recombinant proteins to interrogate biological pathways of interest and support emerging biological concepts.
  • Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; Contributes to writing protocols, procedures, technical reports, and publications; Collaborate efficiently with other team members.


Skills or Requirements:
  • Experience in biochemical assays development, enzymology research methods, and enzyme inhibition studies via techniques including spectroscopy (absorbance, fluorescence, and luminescence), and mass- spectroscopy.
  • Hands on experience with culturing primary cells and cell lines, and experience processing tissues or samples for cell isolation or other downstream applications.
  • Demonstrated ability with cell-based assays and molecular biology techniques including, but not limited to, immunoassays (ELISA, Western Blots), PCR, qPCR, and flow cytometry.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to prepare and present data to project teams and research management as needed. Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to function in multi-disciplinary teams.



Education:

Scientist II:
  • Bachelor's Degree with over 3 years of experience in a related scientific discipline, or
  • Master's Degree in a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Previous industry experience is a plus.



Scientist III:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in related scientific discipline,
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with seven-plus (7+) years of experience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Industry experience required.
