SkyWater is hiring a Qualified Manufacturing List (QML) Sr Staff Engineer with experience in the semiconductor industry, ideally in military, aerospace, or high-reliability applications. This position will oversee the certification and maintenance of our QML status, and participate in QML Qualification activities, ensuring that all products meet the stringent quality, reliability, and performance standards required by the Department of Defense and Defense Logistics Agency.

Responsibilities:



  • Lead the process for obtaining and maintaining Qualified Manufacturing List (QML) certification for the Fab and the manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with MIL-PRF-38535 standards for microcircuits and related military and industry specifications for high-reliability semiconductor devices.
  • Oversee the documentation and quality control processes required for QML certification, ensuring all records are traceable, accurate, and auditable.
  • Collaborate with Technology Review Board, engineering and manufacturing teams to integrate QML standards into the production processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements, adapting processes as necessary to meet evolving guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Defense Logistics Agency, military clients, and other government entities to ensure compliance and to stay informed on changes in certification requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits and prepare reports for senior management, outlining progress, issues, and solutions in maintaining certification and quality standards.
  • Assist the engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and relevant subcontractors in ensuring QML Qualification plans meet all requirements.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field with 8+ years experience or Master's with 6+ years experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance or related roles within the semiconductor industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in MIL-PRF-38535 standard.
  • Proven track record in managing QML certification processes and maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field with 8+ years experience or Master's with 6+ years experience.
  • U.S. Person Required: SkyWater Technology Foundry, Inc. subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applications must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Preferred 5 years of experience in quality management or related roles within the semiconductor industry, specifically working with rad-hard technologies and military specifications.
  • Professional certifications in Quality Management Systems or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience with DLA auditing processes and direct interactions with government agencies.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $165,000. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
