Senior R&D Electrical Engineer Role Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Technology Center group in its Raleigh, NC location. This position is an electrical engineer role in an R&D team that is serving global technology development of the liquid-immersed transformer business. Our business is power equipment manufacturing which involves various business processes from engineering to manufacturing. This position will be in the office work with hybrid remote working possibility. Candidates will be required to travel up to 10% (globally) based on project needs. Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Execution of R&D projects as agreed within the Distribution Transformer business. Improvements and new developments of Technical, Production Standards, and Material specifications. Identification, exploration, and implementation of technology/product development and growth strategies to enhance and secure global positioning. Defining technology gaps, and active participation in technology development to provide sufficient technical solutions and best practices in developed software. Caring about the final product (software) shape and usefulness for business. Developing software specifications based on technical standards (company and global) and own technical knowledge. Analysis of software behavior, defining expected results, and finding problems related to the implementation of technology or missing functionalities. Analysis of risks and possible problems in calculations. Review software code logic and debug software to identify root cause for bugs and issues. For new features and software architecture refactoring efforts, propose software architecture workflow for the solution using transformer domain logic. Being updated in the technology area. Gathering data about best practices and product details. Use domain knowledge during software requirements definition and software specification development. Ensures and fosters own organization and employees to have the ability to challenge status-quo in technical issues, projects, and/or processes with the goal of design and process optimization using best practices. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. Requirements Basic Qualifications:
