POSITION TITLE / LOCATION Slitter Machine Operator / Valway Plant JOB CLASSIFICATION Machine Operator POSITION REPORTS TO: Department Manager/Production Supervisor POSITION OVERVIEW The Slitter Machine Operator is solely responsible for operation of the Slitter Machines. Associate operates the Slitter machine maintaining Safety, Quality and Productivity goals and 5s targets for the area, and is measured by Safety Goals, Quality Goals, Productivity Goals and 5s conditions within the Cable Management area. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow Plant Safety Rules Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out Procedure Maintain 5S Conditions Around Work Area Follow 4G Fabric Temperature Measurement Procedure Maintain Slit Cake Core Inventory at Levels Sufficient for Operation Maintain Slit Cake Inventory to Meet Needs of the Sew Lines Manual Adjustments of Hot Knives During Set-Up Load Roll Goods onto Slitter Frame via Hoist Doff Slit Roll Goods Using Hoist Complete Daily Scrap Form Consistently Complete Daily Production Reporting Sheet Consistently Report Downtime Accurately Report Production Results in Real Time via SAP Desktop Complete Changeovers in a Timely Manner between Fabric Styles Troubleshoot machine issues and adjust settings to optimize slitting Using SAP, Ticket Finish Goods Accordingly Other Duties as Assigned Attend team meetings. Participate as leader in plant activities (i.e. OFI, MQSP, M.O.C.) Understand the environmental impacts and aspects of job-related activities. Follow established Valway and Milliken & Company guidelines concerning use of all chemicals. Comply with all Environmental regulations and Milliken Environmental Policies and Rules. Perform any other duties assigned by Production Manager or Senior Production Manager as necessary. General Duties: Pick up Supplies from Supply Room as needed Maintain all storage areas in a clean, neat, and organized manner compliant with 5S Standard Properly stack, strap and store all waste as per procedure. Waste Yarn, Slitter waste, Cardboard, and Pallet waste. Standing: Ability to stand while working up to 11 hrs/day 90% of day Sitting:Ability to sit down while operating mobile equipment 10% of day Moving:Ability to move throughout plant and move tape carts 40% of day Lifting:Ability tolift upto70lbs. 5% of day Ascending/Descending:Ability to walk upstairs 5% of day Push/Pull/Reach:Ability to push/pull fabric rolls,Boxes and fabric pallets (approx. 1500lbs) 10% of day Bending:Ability to pick up objects from the floor, pack boxes 50% of day Visual Acuity:Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. 100% of day 9. Cognitive:Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand information. 100% of day WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day. SHIFT/WORK HOURS Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork.
