Summary The main function of a marketing manager is to lead the research of market conditions in local, regional, or national areas to determine potential sales of a product or service. - Advise businesses and other groups on local, national, and international factors affecting the buying and selling of products and services.
- Confer with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement and royalty sharing with outside producers and distributors.
- Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing and sales staff and oversee their daily activities.
- Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
- Formulate, direct, and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
- Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution, establish distribution networks, and develop distribution strategies.
- Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
- Formulate and manage channel marketing plans and programs, including formulating Go-To-Market strategies for national and regional retailers such as BestBuy across all of our Mobile product categories: Watches, Buds, Rings, and Accessories.
- Execute marketing tactics flawlessly during all product lifecycle elements while ensuring brand consistency.
- Responsible for actively managing multi-million dollar digital advertising programs.
- Responsible for the end-to-end online customer experience journey
- Manage marketing spend and investment strategies for assigned accounts, evaluating campaign effectiveness while driving the attainment of various marketing KPIs.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Project Management, Product Planning, Retail, Finance, etc.) to create, update, and drive product launch schedules, marketing, and e-commerce placements for all new products ranged at assigned partners.
- Establish a comprehensive master launch preparation schedule capturing all key launch milestones and unique requirements for each of the assigned accounts.
- Work with various teams to establish creative asset (e.g. photography, logos, key visuals, messaging, etc.) delivery schedules that support the needs of each assigned retailer.
- Responsible for the strategy for in store customer experience journey
- Work with various internal teams to conduct data collection, research, and insight creation to determine unique selling points for each retailer.
- Work back with a broader, central channel marketing team on various strategic acquisition and retention-driving initiatives such as hyper-local, and regional strategies and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive CDM, media, partnership, and experiential programming planning and execution.
- Lead the foundational elements of the communication strategy from 1) translation of the target consumer into addressable audiences, communities, and opportunity segments to 2) Leading the preparation of the messaging strategies and toolkits.
- Responsible for communicating the product positioning throughout the team and assisting the sales organization in developing customer presentations.
- Present clear and actionable analysis and recommendations to leadership and assist in developing a comprehensive channel marketing overview strategy.
- Work effectively in a team environment, at times with a limited amount of direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent training required.
- 5-7 years of related experience required.
- Strong Social and Digital expertise - including mastery and optimization of tactics like PPC and display Ads.
- Strong CDM/CLM/CRM experience.
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
- Partnering with Sales to drive sales and market share growth.
- Prior experience in marketing in high-tech, telecommunications environment or retail industries preferred.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced industry and matrix organization with multiple constituents.
- Should have advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge and skills.
- Strong communication, both written (PPT presentations) and oral skills.
- The ability to work both independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including the completion of assignments within and exceeding established time frames.
