Summary The Fabrication Services team at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking an intern to join their team in Bar Harbor this summer. Over 14-16 weeks, the intern will gain hands-on experience with advanced technology and automated systems. They'll receive mentorship from industry experts and have the opportunity to network with scientists and engineers working on cutting-edge solutions to advance scientific discoveries About Your JAX Internship Experience Join peers selected from educational institutions across the country for a summer of professional growth and career exploration. As a JAX Intern, you will receive a dedicated mentor in your department and connect with your fellow interns through JAX-sponsored activities. The ideal start date and end dates for this position are May 19, 2025 - August 29, 2025 Key Responsibilities Assist in the design, fabrication, and testing of automated mouse feeding devices Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement embedded systems. Write and debug code in Python, C, C++, Java, and ARM assembly for device applications. Contribute to electronic product development and optimization to meet design goals Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative solutions. Learn and apply new CAD tools for device fabrication. Document and present project progress and results culminating in a final report and presentation of your work Desired Qualifications JAX encourages applications from a diverse mix of educational backgrounds and experiences. Preferred qualifications include: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in Python, C, C++, Java, and ARM assembly. General understanding of embedded systems and electronic product development. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
