Position General Summary:

The Program Manager, Florida Scholars Academy will support the school's Superintendent and Regional Directors in managing all aspects of budget control, including monitoring the Academy's facility budgets, assisting with position control, and identifying internal efficiencies based on the analysis of fixed and variable costs as changes are implemented. The Program Manager, Florida Scholars Academy will track results from strategic initiatives and complete all required forms, working closely with the Superintendent and Regional Directors to report on the outcomes of activities and actions. Additionally, the Program Manager, Florida Scholars Academy will oversee the instructional budget, ensuring effective planning, organizing, and execution of all logistical details for in-person meetings and the school's annual conference.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for Florida Scholars Academy

  • Compile, receive approvals, and submit RR Reports

  • Complete monthly activity reports and draft monthly board reporting including forecasts

  • Draft Board presentation PowerPoints, documents, and leadership meeting agendas

  • Initiate budget transfers, track expenses for ledger accounts, manage and process accounts payable, review and resolve monthly negative available balances

  • Manage and support purchases and procurement for items in the FSA budget

  • Manage, review, and approve PCard expenses, Concur expense reports, time cards, vendors, and invoices

  • Oversee the continuous monitoring and maintenance of all personnel changes and position control revisions

  • Develop and execute budget procedures and maintain proper system controls

  • Resolve escalated budget procedure issues

  • Conduct analytical procedures to verify the accuracy and completeness of Budget and Programs data

  • Facilitate communications with stakeholders

  • Ensure project deliverables align with the program's intended outcomes

  • Identify and address risks and issues; implement corrective action as needed

  • Manage, control, direct, and supervise assigned direct reports, including general leadership, planning, organizing, and reviewing

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Experience:

  • Five years of governmental finance or budgeting experience

  • Three years of management experience preferred

  • Three years of event logistic planning and implementing experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
