Material Coordinator/Stockkeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Perform a variety of skilled and unskilled duties relating to manufacturing operations with minimal instructions and in accordance with established schedules.
  • Operate hand or power vehicles and overhead crane in performance of duties.
  • Advise Supervisor of the status (including problem areas) of jobs in process.
  • Pass and maintain certificate required to operate appropriate material handling equipment as required by lease agreement and/or State/Federal codes.
  • Requires a working knowledge of SAP, warehouse management, bills of material, drawings, assembly techniques and different products manufactured.
  • Maintain necessary time, quality, quantity, and other records.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.
  • May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties. Including Kaizen events, 5S programs and problem solving exercises.
  • Move material when complete to the next area of operation or storage.
  • Maintain parts supplies for future orders as well as current orders being produced.
  • Fills shortages of parts and receives materials into stock.
  • May assume normal operation of storeroom with minimum higher level instructions. Includes filling requisitions promptly and assigning locations for stock.
  • Detect and report defective material, report shortages or low stock.
  • Compare quality and identification numbers of merchandise against orders and assure packing list quantities match that which has been received.
  • Open wooden and cardboard containers for packing list and inspection.
  • Receive, may unload and move incoming shipments of merchandise, and keep records pertaining thereto.
  • Dump all hoppers when necessary.
  • Take material to and from different operations and buildings. Trips from one building to another should include both incoming and outgoing materials: loading and unloading trucks.
  • Perform necessary transactions to relieve inventory and process production documentation in SAP or other network system.
  • Control and record all activity of purchased material stages in the storeroom.
  • Expedite parts shortages in order to complete jobs throughout other sections of the plant.
  • Perform utility functions by filling in for production workers whenever necessary.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures and JHRA's

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the production staff.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to assist in creating and executing continuous improvement initiatives.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds
  • This position requires a significant amount of walking; bending; standing and sitting for extended periods of time
