The Revenue Services Ambulatory Product Leader is responsible to drive Revenue Cycle Services Ambulatory Commercial strategy while supporting execution of the strategy across our Market Performance Partnerships. The role will work alongside cross functional teams inclusive of Growth, Engineering and Operations, to ensure we are all aligned on a unified strategy while successfully executing on that strategy. The Revenue Services Ambulatory Product Lead must drive the strategy including optimal operational model, technology utilized internally to perform the service and roadmap to continuously evolve the offering. This individual will work alongside members from across Optum to solve complex business needs for our external customers and internal operations teams to ultimately set our strategic direction that optimizes overall business performance. The ideal candidate for this role must be passionate about driving improvements in our Ambulatory Revenue Services business, effective at working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and confident in their interactions with senior leaders, providers, and business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Owns the What/Why of internally utilized and externally sold Ambulatory Services offering
  • Owns Revenue Services Ambulatory Product Roadmap
  • Lead and participate in the development of Ambulatory strategy inclusive of underlying platform
  • Predict emerging needs in the Ambulatory Revenue Services market and develop innovative solutions to meet them
  • Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
  • Lead voice of the Ambulatory Revenue Services products, supporting strategic on-sites and growth opportunities
  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across multiple areas including engineering, technology, growth, marketing, and operations
  • Strategic ownership over Ambulatory platforms positioned within Revenue Services -either internally leveraged products or available externally on the market
  • Accountable for the full product lifecycle management, including: strategy, design, development, management and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products
  • Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings
  • Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
  • Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Partner with internal or external stakeholders (key customers, product partnerships, etc.) to define and drive future product direction
  • Works with Finance and other matrix partnership to define pricing/costing structures for Ambulatory products
  • Coordinates with Product Operations and Engineering on rollout strategy for Ambulatory products
  • Works across the matrix to support actual adoption of new features and functions of specific Ambulatory products
  • Establishes GTM messaging and compelling Ambulatory Services Product value prop
  • Own strategic engagement with Customer Advisory Board, Third Party Advisors, Analysts and Strategic Partners
  • Thought Leader serving as the face to the market - inclusive of presenting at client demonstrations, national conferences and user forums

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare revenue cycle management product management or operations
  • 5+ years of proven excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • 4+ years of experience in development and communicating project plans and/or roadmaps of activities to achieve the Product Strategy. Experience prioritizing work efforts across matrixed teams to manage the most effective execution of deliverables
  • 4+ years of experience working with multiple teams / stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated business leadership & experience presenting to Senior Management
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
