Operator Assistant - 3rd Shift

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for general labor employees (11pm - 7am), M-F, occasional Saturdays to be based out of Harvey, IL approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will responsible for stacking and bundling product.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a industrial manufacturing environment . Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:

• Load/unload finished and WIP product.
• Operate end finishing equipment.
• Line up and lubricate tubing at automatic swager or dedimpler.
• Assist cut off operators inspecting tubing for quantity and quality.
• Band bundles, staple bands and spray ends.
• Clean zinc pots.
• Make up skids and maintain inventory of skid frames.
• Change saw blades as required.

What you'll bring:

• Experience in industrial manufacturing
• Ability to lift 45 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Ability to operate a handheld scanner and utilize a variety of printed work instructions as part of daily work assignment.
• Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Show progress and/or complete job specific training
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
• Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
