Job Summary Experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee the electrical systems and maintenance operations at Grady hospital in Georgia. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of electricians, & maintenance techs ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, maintaining hospital electrical systems, and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to critical areas. This role is vital to maintaining the safety and efficiency of hospital operations. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the work of electricians and maintenance personnel.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, generator operation, transformers, circuit breakers, and hospital-grade equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and National electrical codes and regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential electrical issues and prevent system failures.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize disruption during electrical maintenance or repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the reliability of critical systems, such as emergency power systems and backup generators.
- Manage electrical work during new installations, renovations, or upgrades within the hospital.
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage inventory of electrical equipment and supplies.
- Provide training and guidance to electricians on hospital policies, safety procedures, and updated electrical codes.
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to ensure patient and staff safety.
Qualifications Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field preferred. Years of experience can be considered in lieu of.
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting is highly desirable.
Certifications/Licenses
- Required: Must hold a valid Electrical Contractor License in the state of Georgia or within the US.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards is preferred.
- NFPA 70E certification (Arc Flash and Electrical Safety) is a plus.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
