ABOUT THE ROLE

The Shop Parts Coordinator manages the parts room and oversees the inventory of automotive parts, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain vehicle parts and supplies inventory by preparing and placing purchase orders
    • Receive, inspect and store items
  • Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times
    • Order parts for shop techs
    • Input receipts and usage
    • Code invoices
  • Coordinate bill-back process
    • Create and process GRO's (Garage Repair Orders)
    • Bill the Company's Operations departments or rental companies for damages
  • Maintain parts room inventory
    • Complete annual inventory
    • Establish reorder points
  • Coordinate emissions testing for Company vehicles in Colorado that are less than 10 years of age
    • Certification as emissions tester sponsored by the Company
  • Oversee process to submit returns (used parts) to vendors
    • Ensure returns are accurately sent to vendors and within time limits where required
    • Ensure credits are accurately posted t6o MYR's accounts
  • Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with corporate policies and OSHA standards
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in an automotive service function or related field is required
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
  • Experience with tool/material tracking databases
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a shop environment
  • High school diploma or GED is required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as packing lists shipping manifests, sales orders, packing slips and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of inventory control processes
  • Solid knowledge of automotive parts for medium and heavy duty vehicles
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety procedures
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit, stand, twist and squat, as well as lift 50 pounds regularly

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $28.00 - $32.00 /per hour
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
