Position Title: Portfolio Manager - Private Banking
Business Unit: Private Banking Reports To: Group Manager of Private Banking Position Overview: This position is primarily responsible for supporting the unique underwriting requirements associated with Private Banking credit requests. These special circumstances require a skill set that bridges traditional consumer underwriting approaches with commercial credit analysis. The position is also tasked with ensuring the maintenance of a high standard of credit quality through monitoring the health of the portfolio and taking the appropriate actions in terms of issue identification and follow up according to established protocols. Primary Responsibilities: Provides analytics to augment traditional residential mortgage and consumer loan underwriting functions to address the nuances presented by many Private Banking clients, particularly those owning a significant interest in one or more business enterprises. This will encompass using commercial credit methodology to ensure adequate personal access to business income sources. Manages the progress and implementation of a wide range of projects specific to the Private Banking Group. Projects will typically encompass underwriting, marketing, pricing and profitability, reporting and compliance areas. Manages the annual review process for all Private Banking commercial loans subject to risk rating review and renewal as well as unsecured consumer lines and loans subject to review and renewal on an annual or bi-annual basis. This function encompasses the monitoring of the timing of reviews, information gathering and appropriate analysis. Assumes primary or secondary responsibility for managing and expanding assigned Private Banking client relationships. Oversees document preparation and attends and manages closings for relationships assigned to other Private Bankers. Attends other calls with Private Bankers as appropriate. Coordinates other portfolio administration activities in conjunction with Regional Client Services Associates to gather and monitor data and follow up as appropriate to ensure all delinquencies, documentation exceptions, KYC exceptions and investment account margin exceptions are maintained within established tolerances. Assists as required with reporting needs which could include portfolio composition, yield, product and service utilization and attrition statistics. Assists Group Manager of Private Banking with information requirements for annual budget preparation. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Education: BA or BS Minimum Years Experience: 1 Special Skills: Detail-oriented Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent customer service skills Excellent project management skills Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment MS Excel - Intermediate Level Ability to use a personal computer and job-related software Commercial credit analysis competency Special Licenses and Certificates: Nationwide Mortgage Licensing system and Registry Identifier preferred but will be required.
