Hot Shot/CDL Class A Driver - Home Daily

The hotshot driver will be driving a one-ton pickup (A Ford F-450) with a gooseneck trailer. The trailers would vary from 24 to 40 feet. This person will filling in for drivers who are vacation or leave. Airbriake Certified is preferred. Start time is 5:00am

FCA Packaging creates and manufactures innovative wood packaging solutions. Our builders manufacture wood pallets, boxes, and crates, and we are looking for a Truck Driver for our Ft. Worth, TX facility.

Overview:

The Hot Shot/CDL Truck Driver experience is required to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. The driver will be home nightly and drive in western Washington, primarily from Olimpia to Bellingham. Flatbed experience is preferred but not required. The Daily schedule starts at 5:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants, retail, or distribution centers
• Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Input proper information into Geotab and automated systems for each stage of the loading and unloading process when necessary
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents, or violations

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a CDL Truck Driver
• Experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Geotab)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
• Valid CDL
• Valid Fed Med Card

Education and/or Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience as a CDL Truck Driver is required
• Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Language Skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents in English, and communicate those out effectively. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required. Professional communication is needed.
