College of Community Innovation and Education - School of Public Administration:

The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education brings together academic programs, centers and institutes focused on building stronger communities and elevating the human experience. The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education School of Public Administration is currently accepting applications for a Curriculum Developer. This position oversees the creation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the digital navigator program's curriculum, which aims to help individuals access and use digital technologies effectively. This role focuses on creating engaging, accessible, and user-centric resources to empower individuals with the digital skills to navigate technology effectively. The ideal candidate will combine instructional design expertise with a passion for digital inclusion and education. Classification Title: Program Coordinator

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop preliminary curriculum for review and approval to be administered for project demonstration.

  • Facilitate pilot testing of curriculum materials and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Provide updates to preliminary curriculum prior to Phase 2 (below) based on lessons learned under Phase 1 project demonstration phase.

  • Design comprehensive training modules, lesson plans, and instructional materials that are not only aligned with but also reinforce the goals of the Digital Navigator Program. (Please refer to the scope of services of the grant for more detailed information.)

  • Lead training sessions for digital navigators and nonprofit partners regarding digital navigation and literacy.

  • Create a comprehensive documentation repository and knowledge base for common loaner device issues and solutions, ensuring Navigators have access to relevant information.

  • Create content for diverse audiences, including individuals with limited digital literacy skills, incorporating culturally relevant and inclusive approaches, including learners such as people with disabilities, seniors, youth, and people experiencing homelessness.

  • Develop multimedia content, including written guides, and interactive activities, to support learning objectives. Adapt content to meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and accommodate learners with different needs.

  • Ensure materials are compatible with various delivery platforms, including online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

  • Develop strategies to actively engage users.

  • Foster adoption and maximization of the benefits of the Digital Navigator services.

  • Provide recommendations or adjustments needed for successful execution of Phase 2.

  • Work closely with project leaders, digital navigator agents, and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives.

  • Collaborate with technology and community partners to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with program goals.

  • Develop assessment tools to measure learner progress and program impact, including quizzes, surveys, and performance-based evaluations.

  • Use evaluation data to refine curriculum content and delivery methods.

  • Other tasks assigned to help the success of the Digital Navigator Program related to the curriculum and training.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • A Master's degree in curriculum and instruction or related field.

  • Experience in curriculum development for young adult or adult education.

  • Experience developing training modules, lesson plans, and instructional materials, particularly related to digital literacy and tools.

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and e-learning tools.

  • Knowledge of digital tools, cybersecurity, and basic troubleshooting.

  • Experience in training young professionals and diverse audiences, including learners such as people with disabilities, seniors, youth, and people experiencing homelessness.

  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations and local governments.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
