Role and Responsibilities |
The Driver / Parts Runner, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, is responsible for the delivery and distribution of parts and supplies for Callan Marine to job sites and other locations.
- Delivers materials to Dredges/Projects on an as-needed basis, sometimes including weekends or other non-standard workdays and hours.
- Picks up and delivers purchased products to warehouse and/or project sites.
- Delivers and retrieval of parts/equipment sent out for repair.
- Inspects delivery vehicles and trailers, reports to management, and arranges for necessary repairs.
- Ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
- Ensuring that vehicles are always ready to go out for delivery.
- Carrys out vehicle, trailer, and forklift maintenance checks.
- Operates ATS forklift for loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements |
- Must have a clean driving record, with a minimum 3-year driving history.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
- Must have the ability to read a map or follow various GPS systems.
- Must have the ability to travel to project locations as needed
- Must have the ability to work away from home, at remote project locations, for extended durations, and at times, with short notice.
- Must have the ability to abide by policies and procedures, working effectively and efficiently, complying with all safety rules and regulations.
- Must be reliable and motivated with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Preferably have a forklift operator certification.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFD's), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. In addition, the employee must also be capable of:
- Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.
- Standing, stooping, twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, or sitting repetitively and/or for long periods.
- Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in the performance of work.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs individually. Anything greater than 30lbs and up to 60lbs will require additional lifting means.
- Must be able to push and pull at peak force of 150lbs.
- Climbing stairs and/or vertical ladders of a height of 6ft or greater.
- Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights.
- Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
