Job Summary: The Systems Analyst II plans and configures low- to moderate-complexity software systems to support the administrative function of the University under moderate supervision. This may include departmental and moderately critical applications. Assists in the development of processes. Creates workflows. Installs, configures, supports, and maintains integrations for vendor-supplied software systems. Works on a team and collaborates with specific departments, colleges, and customers around campus. Supports their needs, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner. May provide guidance and training to entry-level Systems Analysts.

Additional Department Summary: Works in the department of Computer Science within the College of Engineering to provide essential IT systems and lab support. Develops, implements, administrates, installs, maintains, and supports software systems, hardware, network infrastructure, clouds, lab equipment, user training, performance monitoring, and configuration planning for faculty, staff, and students in the Computer Science department. Develops, implements, supports, and manages cloud resources, virtual desktop infrastructures, and virtual clusters, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; OR bachelor's degree and two (2) years of IT system analysis experience; OR associate's degree and four (4) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT system analysis; OR High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of IT experience to include two (2) years of IT system analysis.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong programming and scripting skills. Strong Linux knowledge and experience. Knowledge of installation and management of virtual desktop infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, MIS or closely related degree. Three (3) years of experience in a position that involved strong programming and scripting skills. Knowledge and experience programming, and supporting various software and network infrastructures in an academic setting. Knowledge of containers and virtual environments including AWS and Azure cloud environments.
