The Opportunity:

The UCF College of Community Innovation and Education is currently accepting applications for a Post-Award Specialist II. This role will provide post award administration support to the faculty and staff in the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) with the Research Administration Services Team. This position will manage a portfolio of funded grant projects to ensure that grant activities and objectives are implemented and completed effectively, on time, and within budget. Monitor financial performance, and ensure compliance with grant requirements

Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the review and approval of travel requisitions, purchases, student tuition payments and stipends for C&G research projects and service/recharge centers within Workday.

  • Ensure all transactions are accurate and comply with organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate and manage revenue from internal sources for cost share commitments,

  • Collect, verify, and maintain accurate in-kind records.

  • Ensure expenses are properly charged and documented and address and resolve issues related to cost share commitments.

  • Manage the maintenance, tracking, and analysis of expenses on C&G research projects for reconciliation and verification on behalf of CCIE faculty involved in funded research to ensure compliance.

  • Review and approve sub-award invoices for payment.

  • Coordinate and manage the drafting and processing of modifications to sub-awards, contracts, and consultant agreements.

  • Monitor and reconcile sub-award transactions and address and resolve issues related to sub-awards and contracts.

  • Manage communication between the Office of Research, HURON, financial management units and the Principal Investigator.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with care and discretion and address and resolve issues related to system access and data handling.

  • Develop and review budget amendments for accuracy and compliance.

  • Prepare detailed reports on grant activity, including financial and progress reports.

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate project records and oversee the close-out process, ensuring all final reports and documentation are completed and submitted on time.

  • Provide support to the planning and scheduling of training sessions and events.

  • Assist in developing and updating training materials and resources.

  • Assist in the facilitation of training sessions and provide support to trainers and participants.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in accounting, finance or business.

  • Experience in research administration best practices.

  • Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and/or other federal regulations.

  • Financial/accounting experience in grants administration, research administration, government agency and/or higher education environment.

  • Proficiency in grant management software (e.g., Workday, Huron Research Suite).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced proficiency using Excel.

  • Effective communication skills for working with faculty, researchers, and funding agencies.

  • Previous customer service experience in a professional setting
