Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our Palatka Mill. As a key member of the Technical Team, the Kraft Quality Manager works with the operations to meet the facility production goals, focused on ensuring the mill produces Quality right first-time products, on time, meeting our customers' needs and ensuring GP is the preferred partner.

The Kraft Quality Manager provides oversight for the two Kraft paper machines, rewinders, and wrap line. This includes monitoring pertinent parameters for incoming raw materials, intermediates, and finished products manufactured in operations.

Quality oversight includes assisting with product development and trials, customer site visits, and assisting the Kraft Sales group with technical support. This position is responsible for managing, measuring, and monitoring quality metrics for daily operations, and meeting or exceeding our customers' expectations. The Kraft Quality Manager is responsible for responding to customer complaints. This position assures that site operations meet regulatory and compliance requirements for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal processes (procedures and policies).

Our Team

The Palatka mill and its products are a critical part of GP's Consumer Products portfolio, including high-profile Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Brawny, and Sparkle brands. GP has invested heavily at Palatka in recent years to deliver competitive tissue and towel products including a new towel paper machine. The mill also features two Kraft paper machines and recent investments in a state-of-the-art Daily Operations Center (DOC) - a singular control hub for our asset monitoring. With more than 950 team members, the mill is highly strategic operation for GP and a foundational part of the local community and economy.

Located 45 minutes west of the beautiful beaches of St. Augustine, the mill is nestled in outskirts of the growing city of Palatka. Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, and Gainesville are approximately one hour away, and Orlando is only two hours! In an area ideal for many different people, interests, and lifestyles, the Palatka mill is a rare find!

What You Will Do
* Foster a culture of transformation and continuous improvement, building a quality culture and capability in team members.
* Drive sustainable quality processes and systems through application of management systems and a cadence of verification through self and with operations leaders.
* Champions applicable quality programs.
* Manage and develop Quality Analysts.
* Oversee and implement trials within the facility, ensures acceptance criteria is established and approved.
* Lead change management, quality process improvements, and drive to a zero-defect culture with use of technology and analytical tools
* Lead and facilitate the root cause and corrective action process, with a mindset for eliminating future defects, providing timely resolution to customer inquiries, feedback investigations, and corrective actions.
* Assure supplier quality is meeting our needs to produce quality products.
* Monitor and analyze quality performance, inform leadership of the improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, utilize Project Management Tools to monitor implementation and validate sustainability of changes.
* Utilizes Measurement System Analysis and Run-to-Target metrics to improve quality
* Collaborate with other GP quality leaders to leverage knowledge and build a transformational quality system that achieves our vision.
* Comfortable working with front-line employees to executive leaders, utilizing strong written and verbal communication skills.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Quality related experience in an industrial environment
* Utilizing Quality Management Tools and Systems
* Executing quality processes, including change management, CAPA/RCA, and continuous improvement
* Utilizing Statistical Process Control to monitor quality performance

What Will Put You Ahead
* Five (5) years of Quality Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
* Quality Certifications from a recognized industry organization
* Experience utilizing Quality Management Systems, particularly in an ERP Environment (SAP, JD Edwards)
* Paper manufacturing or related industry experience
