DLZ Corporation has an exciting Entry Level Bridge Engineer opportunity in Cleveland, OH! Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform design engineering, bridge inspections and other assignments requiring a solid grasp of the Structural Engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgment.
- Perform Structural Engineering work under close supervision or provide support to more experienced personnel.
- Perform analyses and design required for Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky highway structures, systems and equipment items.
- Prepare Structural drawings using AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and Microstation (ORD) design software.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternatives.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and proposals.
- Perform work in the field as well as in the office.
- Possess aptitude to act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.
- Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, emphasis in Structural Engineering
- 0 - 3 years structural engineering experience
- Engineering Intern (EI), pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
- AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and MicroStation (OpenRoads) experience a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including; Word and Excel
- Verbal and written proficiency with the English language required
- Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements
