Salem YMCA Kids Club Staff (Babysitting)

As a Kids' Club Staff Member, you will help provide a caring and safe space for our youngest participants in the Y's drop-in babysitting room. You'll engage children in play and curriculum-based activities while ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience as their parents utilize Y facilities. Kids' Club staff play a key role in fostering a welcoming atmosphere, building positive relationships with children, parents, and members.

• Experience supervising and engaging children in play or structured programs.
• An understanding of child development from infancy through elementary age.
• Strong communication skills, including positive redirection techniques.
• Creativity to plan activities that capture children's interest.
• A compassionate, supportive approach that embraces each child's unique needs.
• The flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous experience working with youth or children preferred
• Hours are Monday & Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm and Thursday & Saturday from 8am to 12pm

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
• Physically and mentally acts appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances
