JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in SAMSHA funded grant, Centerstone Trauma and Grief Treatment (C-TGT) for Children, Adolescents, and Families. Develops, coordinates, and implements outreach and educational program, activities, and awareness presentations to focus population and community stakeholders across three counties (Sarasota, Manatee, and Desoto).

Duties include:

  • Initiate community-based/mobile engagement and outreach strategies to increase awareness of, participation in, and access to trauma and grief treatment/services.
  • Disseminate educational information to local community groups/stakeholders and children/adolescents and their families.
  • Interface with child-serving systems, state/local agencies, healthcare providers, law enforcement, etc. to identify/refer/engage individuals in need of services.
  • Provide outreach, education, advocacy, and consultation to publicize the project.
  • Ensure accuracy of referral information and establish referral procedures.
  • Provide linkages/referrals to local provider organizations as appropriate.
  • Provide ongoing outreach to build relationships with community linkages.
  • Ensure that children/adolescents identified as at-risk are referred to the project; and
  • Participate in all group meetings and staff trainings.
  • Develop/implement procedures to ensure treatment providers are competent and knowledgeable about trauma and its impacts.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain project advisory council.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, or related field required. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children/families of trauma preferred. Candidate must possess a valid Florida Driver's License in good standing, with his or her own vehicle.Bilingual skills preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required: Knowledge of/linkages with diverse populations, key community stakeholders, and populations with/at risk for trauma. Public speaking experience, excellent organizational skills, strong communication and writing skills, creative problem solving skills, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Personal Qualities: Must value cultural differences, work independently and/or as a member of a team, problem solve, and be genuinely interested in working with children, adolescents, and their families.

$16.50--$23.10
