EMAT Energy Management Project Performance Engineer

The Energy Management Project Performance Engineer (PPE) will perform integration activities of key program attributes for specific vehicles with responsibilities including but not limited to:




  • Work closely with EMAT Project Performance Lead to summarize Energy Management related parameters to share with the Program Team.


  • Support creation of and updates to the Energy Management Scorecard


  • Communicate technical status in oral presentations and written reports for all vehicle level performance, fuel economy, drivability, and electrical demand targets


  • Create work requests for the science teams within Energy Management


  • Analyze fuel economy, acceleration performance, and capability using test data and simulation evaluation


  • Review and approve data from each of the Energy Management science teams


  • Work with extended teams to develop tradeoff opportunities between VDE, PSE, and drivability


  • Work with extended teams to develop risk mitigation plans


  • Validate customer functional objectives related to Energy Management


  • Participate in ride & drive events and evaluations at proving grounds as needed to ensure Energy Management targets are achieved


  • Work with Energy Management science teams to benchmark and future competitive vehicles

Basic Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree field


  • 3 or more years of experience in product/propulsion system development



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Experience/understand how to derive ABC coast down coefficients


  • Understanding of VDE sensitivities and tradeoffs


  • Fuel economy and/or VDE simulation tool experience


  • Experience with Powertrain and Electrified Powertrain Systems


  • Experience in fuel economy testing and data analysis


  • Vehicle testing knowledge - chassis dyno, engine dyno, and an understanding of vehicle coast down


  • Experience with futuring and competitive benchmarking
