Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to be our Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our efforts in Fort Johnson, LA. In this position, you will lead the MTC communication architecture. The ISSO will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems, networks, and data. The ideal candidate will possess a strong education in cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance with experience that indicates a willingness to learn and adapt.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

What You'll Do



  • Contract lead for the coordination and implementation of the MTC's RMF program.
  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained and documented for MTC information systems.
  • Responsible for defining & implementing standard operating procedures; implementing DOD, Army, & MTC policies; and creating & implementing plans of action and milestones (POA&M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, & inspections.
  • Assures successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate IT policies and procedures that are consistent with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Coordinates with the technical branch to ensure the latest software, patches, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) are being installed and reported.
  • Physical set-up of facilities (furniture), configuration (event network, simulation and Army Mission Command Systems and database deployment), and end-to-end testing between the simulation and Army Mission Command Systems according to architectural design as directed.
  • Travel may be required


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Bachelors of Arts or Sciences degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Network Architecture design and implementation
  • Possess advanced planning, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills on the Microsoft server platform and router, switch, and firewall configuration
  • A strong understanding of technology integration and information flow including LAN/WAN, firewalls, security, storage, and backup methodologies
  • Knowledge of specific product lines (Cisco, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard, and Tripwire)
  • Expert understanding of National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), DoD, and Army Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies, directives, instructions, manuals, and best business practices.
  • Knowledge of current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security assessment, monitoring, detection, and remediation tools and procedures utilizing standards-based concepts and capabilities
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery continuity of operations plans, enterprise incident response program, roles, and responsibilities, network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of Defense-in-Depth)
  • Knowledge of known vulnerabilities from alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins, measures or indicators of system performance and availability, network systems management principles, models, methods (e.g., end-to-end systems performance monitoring), and tools
  • Knowledge of server administration and systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods; systems lifecycle management principles, including software security and usability
  • Skill in determining how a security system should work (including its resilience and dependability capabilities) and how changes in conditions, operations, or the environment will affect these outcomes
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II certification Required
  • United States citizen
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
