The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Associate Network Engineer.

As part of a team of more experienced staff, the Associate Network Engineer supports various sites to provide for network connectivity, including local area networks and wide area networks. Collaborates with team members on design and implementation of approved projects. Contributes to research and analysis of technology based processes. Develops documentation of connections, devices, processes and procedures. Coordinates activities related to network maintenance, installation, and changes. Works closely with other staff members to identify and implement resolutions to customer support incidents, ensuring on-going communications throughout the problem. Able to organize and prioritize tasks, assignments, and trouble tickets, with some guidance from others. Adheres to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures. Uses time constructively and in an organized manner. Adheres to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. Maintains confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Investigates customer support issues to determine the nature of the problem and implement an appropriate resolution. Performs ongoing and routine system maintenance tasks. Ensures on-going communications with the end-users around the issues.
  • Performs ongoing network and circuit capacity analysis and hardware lifecycle planning.
  • Continues development of skills and knowledge in current and emerging IT technologies.
  • Coordinates testing and implementation of network upgrades.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Technical School, 2 years completed coursework towards a Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree required.
  • Demonstrates analytical, organization, customer service and communication skills required in the resolution of problems.
  • Ability to balance time and effort among multiple projects and support activities according to established priorities.
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of system architecture and operating system internals. Some experience working with Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
  • Solar Winds network monitoring is a plus. Proper design, implementation, and support of LAN technologies including VLANs and port configuration.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and capable of learning through continued study of trade journals, technical manuals and online research.
  • Willing and able to share knowledge and expertise with other staff members in order to ensure the broadest possible knowledge base among team members.

Travel Requirements: Travel could be up to 25%.
