Headquartered in Oakland, CA, we are a distributed (remote) workforce with staff in major metros nationwide, including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, and San Francisco. We have offices in Oakland, and staff can access all WeWork offices globally.

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Media Planner, you’ll play a key role in supporting the planning team across various media planning and buying phases, including plan development, campaign implementation, and maintenance. This entry-level position is perfect for someone detail-oriented, eager to learn about digital and traditional media, and excited to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Solid Attention to Detail & Organization. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Eager to Learn & Take Initiative. A proactive mindset with a strong desire to grow in media planning and buying.
  • Excellent Communication & Teamwork Skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Technical Proficiency. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn media research tools.
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment. Comfortable working under deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Availability to work West Coast/Pacific Time Zone hours.

 

What You’ll Do As An Assistant Media Planner:

  • Research websites, platforms, and trends to inform media recommendations and strategy.
  • Communicate with vendors to gather pricing, placement options, and campaign details.
  • Prepare media authorizations and insertion orders and ensure proper trafficking, pacing, and optimizations.
  • Track campaign performance, ensure ads run correctly, and maintain up-to-date status documents.
  • Assist in preparing reports on campaign effectiveness and competitive analysis.
  • Keep up with media trends, use research tools, and participate in training sessions to enhance planning strategies.
