Position Description
Ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the IT Services that support core organizational functions. Monitors, maintains, supports, and optimizes all networked software and associated operating systems. The Senior IT Specialist will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with local management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term technology needs. Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. Analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. Collaborates with IT Managed Service Provider to resolve local end user and IT environment issues and service requests; Documents incidents through the management system Work with local plant/warehouse leadership, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues. Designs and performs server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Supports preparations and user acceptance testing required for infrastructure projects and enhancements. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed. Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems. Collaborates with end users to prepare for Audit and compliance requirements Communicates with customers internally and externally to document resolutions, recommended courses of action, and follow through on project requirements and enhancements Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Provides guidance and solves escalated issues for IT Specialists on the team Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
Solid knowledge and experience with servers, networks, VoIP phones, PC/printer maintenance, cyber security software, Windows OS, and Collaboration Tools Ability to recognize and analyze technical problems Well-developed project leadership and management skills Advanced understanding of IT policies, standards and procedures Strong ability to communicate and explain technical needs and problems to provide solution Demonstrated ability to handle escalations with professionalism and speed- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
- Five years of experience with desktop support
