Progyny is seeking a Corporate Accounting Intern who will support the team in completion of the accounting, preparing financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial data and supporting the company's financial processes.

Progyny's internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the chance to gain valuable corporate work experience while contributing to meaningful projects that benefit the company. The internship program runs year-round based on the needs of each department, with a dedicated summer program that begins in June. Summer interns will be required to present to senior leadership on project(s) that they have completed during their time with Progyny.

The internship program will align the intern to a specific business leader to execute on a specific project plan. This is a paid internship with a hybrid schedule, requiring interns to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Remote positions may also be available.

What you'll do...

  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes, including Form 10-Q to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements.

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information.

  • Gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting within a publicly traded company.

  • Develop skills in financial analysis, reporting, SEC financial reporting, and SOX compliance.

  • Opportunity to work with experienced professionals and learn from industry experts.

  • Enhance understanding of financial processes and systems.

About you...

  • Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills and ability to efficiently work with large volumes of data and pivot tables.

  • Organized and methodical with strong attention to detail.

  • Accounting major or equivalent

  • Comfortable collaborating with and presenting to executives.

  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and inquisitive; natural problem solver.

  • Prefers to work independently with clear initial guidance/requests leveraging cross functional resources and teams.

  • Driven to deliver results with the ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and effectively collaborate with others.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00/hour - $40.00/hour.
