Position Description: Become a part of the accounting department of a leading regional banking franchise with almost $50 billion in assets and over 350 branch locations across the South and Texas. This Financial Analyst II position is a key member of the Technical Loan Accounting team and is responsible for the accounting, validation, reconciliation, and analysis of select financial and loan data. The Financial Analyst II participates regularly in both the compilation and presentation of key reporting deliverables and demonstrates a strong knowledge of accounting systems, accounting concepts, and US GAAP. Job Duties and Responsibilities: This role's primary responsibility is to work with the Senior Accounting Manager to review loan documents prior to loan closing to ensure fees/costs are booked in accordance with GAAP. This position also performs ad-hoc analysis on loan transactions to ensure accurate accounting using a wide range of data analytics tools. The Financial Analyst II prepares the annual deferred fees and costs (ASC 310-20, formerly, FAS 91) analysis as well as other monthly, quarterly, and annual loan related tasks. In addition to these loan-related activities, this position may also perform the following duties and responsibilities: * Partner with assigned lines of business to provide timely and accurate information based on changing business needs and performance * Assist with monthly accounting close, including preparation of various types of analyses to ensure financial statement completeness and accuracy * Prepare and process journal entries, including verification of supporting documentation provided by others, as required by procedure * Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, as well as statistical accounts, on both a daily and monthly basis * Generate standard and ad hoc analytical reports for consumption by various lines of business and external parties * Participate in special projects designed to enhance efficiency or improve analysis and reporting * Interact with internal and external auditors during various audits Minimum Requirements: * Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent * Three years or greater of work-related experience (loan accounting experience highly preferred) * Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication (oral and written) skills * Advanced Excel skills * Experience with other Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint * Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar data analysis tools * Experience with Oracle, or other EPM or ERP systems * Strong inter-personal, influencing, negotiation, consensus building, and conflict resolution skills Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
