Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and/or performing all maintenance-related activities within the distribution facility.
  • Support the effective use and functionality of the automated equipment used to obtain production goals nightly including but not limited to: installing, maintaining and/or repairing machinery and equipment such as conveyor control systems, material handling equipment and systems, engines, motors, and conveyor systems; physical structures; and pipe and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and properly repairs material handling equipment and automated picking system-related error conditions occurring in the distribution center.
  • Perform minor welding tasks with electrical welding equipment on mild steels while applying knowledge of all safety practices including safety practices related to welding processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical controls and install electrical circuitry, conducts, and control components.
  • Interprets company policies and performs duties following company safety regulations.
  • Assesses the efficiency of warehouse infrastructure and equipment; recommends modifications to management.
  • Manage preventive maintenance plans and schedules for all facility equipment and machinery to prevent equipment failure and loss of productivity using industry/facility specific software.
  • Assists the Building Maintenance manager with performing regularly scheduled inspections of all facility equipment (i.e., MHE, conveyor, lighting, heating, ventilation systems, and other equipment); notifies management concerning need for repairs or alterations.
  • Reviews current safety functions and identifies hazards in the warehouse including safety lock-out / tag-out, driving machinery, and general hazards.
  • Perform installations, maintenance, or repair of any and all physical structures, machinery, or equipment within the distribution center including maintaining all related records, receipts, warranties, etc. in an organized manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for all conveyor and equipment parts needed for adjustment from inventory on a monthly basis, using maintenance connection software.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to and remove worn or defective parts; inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems or imperfections; performs repairs and/or manages replacement as needed; starts machines and equipment to test operation following repairs.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to discuss, research, select or work with ALL products that may be ordered by our customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Maintenance Manager or PM Management team

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Vocational training in mechanical and electrical systems is preferred but not required., Experience with material handling equipment, automated picking systems, and mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment systems is preferred but not required.

Computer Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate software utilizing I-Pads and computers including Internet browsers navigation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift Certificate preferred but not required.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Must have electrical experience
  • Certification Knowledge of controls preferred
