Staffmark is hiring a
Product Engineer in Houston, TX, for a local distribution center. If you're ready to take the next step in your career, keep reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity!

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Product Engineer will create product designs and samples based on specifications from Encon Management, Sales, or Marketing teams. Reporting to the General or Engineering Manager, the Engineer will develop, design, and draft products using technical descriptions, sketches, and verbal directions. The role requires knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industrial procedures. Ideal candidates will have a background in Mechanical Engineering with electrical experience (or vice versa), with fluid pump system design experience a plus.

Responsibilities:



  • Design system layouts and packaging, focusing on DFM and cost sensitivity
  • Generate 3D models and drawings per specifications
  • Interpret engineering plans to determine the component orientation and material lists
  • Ensure compatibility of designs for manufacturing and construction
  • Create designs for pressure vessels, skids, and piping layouts
  • Research product design, capabilities, and compatibility
  • Identify design flaws and propose solutions
  • Apply industry standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, CSA) to product designs
  • Maintain product specifications and support third-party testing
  • Prepare BOMs, specifications, and change notices (ECNs)
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure product quality and manufacturability
  • Assist with first article inspections and other tasks as needed



Qualifications:



  • 3-5+ years of design/drafting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with industrial electrical design (NEC, CEC, European standards)
  • Knowledge of ASME, ANSI, CSA, and ISO standards
  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Pro-Engineer)
  • Experience with pressure vessel and structural skid design a plus
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and skidded pump packages preferred
