Cirrus Logic's Mixed Signal Product Division is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our high performance team of engineers supporting our boosted audio amplifier products and speaker algorithms. You will play a key role in getting design wins in laptops, mobile products, and more.
Responsibilities
- Win and maintain customer accounts by tuning their end products, developing customized demos, quantifying audio performance, and demonstrating software tools
- Provide technical support for customers and FAEs by solving acoustic and electrical problems, answering product questions, and hands-on debugging
- Develop customer collateral such as application notes and tech reports
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross functional teams around the world to support customer requests. This includes working with IC Design engineers, Systems engineers, Validation engineers, Test Engineers, Software engineers, and others
- Collaborate closely with software teams to define, implement and validate new tools and firmware features
- Drive the development of promotional demos for new products and features
- Partner with Marketing teams to promote new products during customer visits and conferences
- Lead customer and field team technical trainings
- Autonomously handle and prioritize tasks with strong sense of ownership and high sense of urgency
- Travel approximately 3 times per year, domestically and/or abroad
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering, MS preferred, with 3+ years experience in the acoustic industry
- Strong hands-on experience analyzing and evaluating audio products with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, Audio Precision analyzers, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Understand audio signal processing algorithms and techniques
- Experience with audio analysis software, MATLAB, and/or Excel mathematical analysis
- Strong ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing
- Proven experience debugging customer issues
- Demonstrated aptitude in understanding of various industry interface standards such as I2C, SPI, I2S or high speed control/data bus
- Familiarity with scripting/programming language such as C, Python, MATLAB, or similar
- Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience working with cross functional teams and customer
- Experience with the requirements of the PC and mobile markets
- Proficient in writing MATLAB and Python scripts
- Extensive experience debugging hardware and software issues
- Passion for Audio technology
- Proven experience working in a fast paced environment
