Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department (ED) who is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the unit. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care to patients with urgent and emergent medical conditions. The Charge Nurse will oversee a team of nurses and support staff, coordinating patient care activities and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 12 Hour Days

Qualifications

* Associate Degree in Nursing

* State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License

* BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

* ACLS

* PALS
* Minimum One year of nursing experience required



Responsibilities

    Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff in the Emergency Department.

  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and timely patient care.

  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to provide immediate and comprehensive care.

  • Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, addressing any staff concerns or issues promptly.
